Fresh from the grill!! AnakJajan gonna share you info about a Korean BBQ restaurant that literally just opened yesterday!!
KOGI KOGI means ‘daging-daging’ or ‘meat and meat’, they offer ‘all you can eat‘ homestyle cooking Korean BBQ with all-natural ingredients.
This place is actually quite easy to find, it’s located at the same building with Pos Indonesia, a spacious building painted with orange color. Interior inside KOGIKOGI is simple yet comfortable with wooden chair and table.
As you all know mostly Korean restaurant can be divided into two types: authentic yet super expensive or cheap but tasteless. That’s why the team behind KOGI KOGI want to open a Korean restaurant with quite affordable price yet still taste authentic.
For IDR 199k++ (drink not included) per person, you can enjoy ‘all you can eat’ or ‘eat till you drop’ Korean BBQ at KOGI KOGI.
On the front you will find a buffet area with BBQ ingredients (meats, sauces, vegetables); ready to eat menu such as Buchu Jeon (seafood chives pancake), Kimchi Jeon (kimchi pancake), Chapchae (Korean stir fried noodle), Sambab (Korean rice wrap), seaweed soup, etc; salad; fruits and dessert. Fyi, KOGI KOGI uses organic vegetables from local farmers that use seeds from Korea that’s why the vegetables are similar with the one in Korea but smaller because they plant it here in Indonesia.
Meat selection available in three types:
BEEF
Galbi (beef short ribs)
Bulgogi (marinated beef)
CHICKEN
Dakgalbi (spicy chicken)
Gunjun Dakgalbi (sweet marinated chicken)
PORK
Galbijjim (braised pork short ribs)
Dwaeji Bulgogi (spicy pork)
All of the meat are marinated already, so you can just grill it immediately. For me the flavors in the meat are kinda bland or not bold enough but don’t worry, you can mix the meat with sauces available such as Samjang, Soyu, KOGI and Tokichi sauce to enhance the flavor.
Each person can order one portion of freshly made menu such as Sundubu Chige, Steamed Egg, Bibimbab and Haemul Toppoki.
Haemul Toppoki
Toppoki or tteokbokki is a popular Korean snack made from soft rice cake, fish cake and sweet red chili sauce. KOGI KOGI creates soup style tteokbokki and you can dip Sambab (rice wrap) into it. It was just okay for me, the seasoning was too sweet.
Steamed Egg
I always love hot fluffy steamed egg. Try to add a bit of soyu sauce to enhance the flavor.
Bibimbab
Topping was generous but the sauce was way too sweet for me and not savory enough.
Sundubu Chige
Hot and spicy Korean stew with soft tofu and seafood. It was really good and well seasoned, spicy hot savory with silky smooth tofu and perfectly cooked fresh seafood. The soup was really addicting I cannot stop slurping it. Recommended!!
Overall the food and ingredients at KOGI KOGI are fresh with reasonable taste and price (IDR 199k++ per person). If you are looking for an affordable ‘all you can eat’ Korean BBQ, KOGI KOGI absolutely is the one. Thank you for bobobobo.com for the invitation. Let’s Jajan!!
