Hello!! There’s a new ‘it’ place at Senopati area located literally beside the happening Three Buns Burger, you can easily spot their unique building with MOMO sign on top with catchy rustique bronze color.
Yesterday nite, Mr. Jajan told me that he wants to try a new place for brunch/lunch this Sunday, and after doing some search I found out there’s a new restaurant literally just opened on 17th of May 2014, being such a ‘hipster’ we decided to visit this place literally one day after the opening day :D
Momo is a Japanese restaurant & bar with the Modern Izakaya & Gourmet Cocktail concept.
The interior inside is quite lovely with patterned tile floor, catchy artwork on the wall with a stylish woman wearing kimono, sunglasses and Channel ‘look a like’ bag is picking ‘Momo’ fruits (in Japanese ‘Momo’ means peach).
Price range for the beverages between IDR 25k to 150k: special cocktail, beer, tea, coffee, juice, soft drinks. They are currently having 11 selection of cocktail with catchy names, and they recommend me to try ‘#1′ IDR 110k and Grape in Gold IDR 110k. But because it was still early and our stomach still empty, we decided not to have any cocktail.
And for the food selection: Salad, Cold dishes such as Carpaccio, Grill, Fry dishes such as Croquette, Pot (Stew/Hotpot), Pan, Rice, Noodle, Sushi and Sweets with price range between IDR 32k – 185k. The food selection were interesting, I almost went ‘kalap’ wanting to order almost all of them.
Momo Beef Hotpot IDR 135k (Spicy)
This is one of the signature menu at Momo. Consist of thinly sliced premium beef with cabbage, enoki mushroom and chives served with miso broth. For the broth, you can choose spicy or non spicy miso broth.
The hotpot was delicious, beef was tender and I really like the spicy miso broth, a lil bit of sweet, spicy and savory flavor with lovely miso aroma. On the other side I wish there’s more enoki mushroom inside though.
Salmon Dashi Tea Rice IDR 55k
The rice was served with slices of salmon & seaweed furikake with dashi tea broth.
Well this is quite unique because we never found any restaurant at Jakarta serving rice dish with ‘Ochasuke’ style yet. FYI Ochasuke is rice dish topped with toppings served with a pot of tea broth and you need to pour the broth on top of the rice & toppings.
The taste was comforting with fresh salmon slices and well seasoned soup.
Bengbeng Cake IDR 50k
Consist of crunchy chocolate rice crispy, chocolate cake, silky smooth caramel sauce and chocolate ganache served with vanilla ice cream. The cake was moist, rich, has the right amount of sweetness and there’s a bit of alcohol inside I think. It was OMGD!! Oh My God Delicious!! I kinda not wanting to share it with Mr. Jajan, oopsss :)
Overall the food was good, nice concept, cozy ambiance & interior and Mr. Jajan is happy. Still curious with another dishes, will be back for more. Let’s Jajan!!
