Kushiya Monogatari is an authentic Japanese Do-It-Your-Self All-You-Can-Eat buffet restaurant from Japan that recently has opened their first outlet in Indonesia at this new mall AEON Mall BSD City.
I’m always weak when it comes to Japanese food or unique dining experience and I just couldn’t be happier when we visited Kushiya Monogatari. The dining concept at Kushiya Monogatari is very unique with Do-It-Yourself cooking method where every tables are equipped with deep fryer and customer can cook their own meal easily.
Kushiage style skewer is their main specialty, it is various deep fried skewers from meat, meatball, takoyaki, till vegetable covered with golden crunchy exterior made from batter and panko (Japanese bread crumbs).
The food here are buffet-style where you can choose the skewers you want to cook along with other ready to eat dishes such as salad, miso soup, Japanese curry rice, noodle, spring rolls, karaage, croquette, fruits, cakes, chocolate fondue, vanilla/ matcha soft ice cream, juice, softdrink, coffee, etc for IDR 128K on weekday IDR 148k on weekend for adult or IDR 98k for children below 10 years, pretty affordable isn’t it??
Dip the skewers into thick batter first then cover it with bread crumbs evenly and put it into the deep-fryer. It is advisable not to add more than 10 skewers in the deep fryer at the same time so that the skewers can be cooked properly without affecting the oil temperature and remember to watch your skewers and not to overcook it in order to get the best taste and enjoyment. To accompany the skewers, there are 7 types of sauce and highly recommend you to try their nutty Roasted Sesame sauce.
Our most favorite skewers would be the mini Taiyaki, specially for Takoyaki and Taiyaki you don’t need to coat it with batter anymore, just simply put it into deep fryer. Who would know that these mini taiyaki or Japanese fish shaped cakes will be sooo freaking addicting?!! We just couldn’t get enough of the crunchy exterior while soft and sweet inside with red bean filling, so soo sooo good AnakJajan had more than 5 skewers. MUST MUST HAVE!
Overall, AnakJajan enjoyed the unique do-it-your-self experience at Kushiya Monogatari, the food were decent and enjoyable not to mention the affordable price, will definitely back for more (especially their ahhmazing deep fried taiyaki). Let’s Jajan!!
