AnakJajan always have a thing with anything classic or nostalgic and this time we wanna introduce you with a restaurant that served classic comfort food, Selera Meneer.
Selera Meneer is located at Kebayoran Baru South Jakarta area, not very far from Hospitalis restaurant. The interior is simple homey and decorated with antique displays.
As for the food, Selera Meneer serves classic Semarang, Chinese and Dutch ‘peranakan’ (fusion) cuisine such as Lumpia Semarang, Nasi Bakmoy, Bistik Ayam, Galantine, Selat Solo, etc using special family recipes.
Sup Tomat Mevrouw Mintje IDR 20k
Classic tomato soup with peas, carrot, sausage and meatbals inside. The soup was hearty and comforting with sweet, savory and tangy flavor combination.
Bistik Ayam ala Meneer IDR 27.5k
Simple yet delicious chicken dish consist of chicken breast fillets cooked in sweet yet savory sauce served with vegetables, potato wedges, potato chips and pickles. The sauce was amazing, it has a very nice balance of flavor that Mr.Jajan loved so much.
Galantine IDR 27.5k
Galantine is a classic dish that is rare to find nowadays and we are happy to be able to find it here at Selera Meneer. It is stuffed minced meat dish using minced chicken and beef, fried and served soy flavored boiled egg, vegetables, potato wedges, potato chips, pickles then drenched with thick and sweet brown sauce.
Sterk Juice IDR 18k
Refreshing yet healthy vegetable juice made with green vegetable with pineapple and lemon.
Lontong Cap Gomeh Sam Po Kong IDR 30k
Lontong Cap Gomeh at Selera Meneer consists of rice cake, boiled egg, ‘sayur lodeh’, chicken cooked in coconut milk, prawn cracker and the rare ‘Sate Abing’ beef with serundeng or sauteed grated coconut slow cooked for hours.
Pastel Tutup IDR 25k
Baked potato pie consist of mashed potato filled with vegetables and chicken cooked in creamy sauce. Unlike the usual dry filling, Pastel Tutup here has a very unique soupy creamy filling inside, soo good!!
Bakmi Djowo Mbah Kam Soo IDR 25k
Simple Javanese fried noodle with vegetables, egg, fish cake, chicken fillet and topped with fried shallot. Even though fried noodle is a very simple dish but it is not easy at all to find a great one! And Selera Meneer has it! You might think that we exaggerate but no it was soo good!! Nicely fried and seasoned the fried noodle was very fragrant and addicting.
Nasi Goreng Babat Samping Sepoor IDR 30k
Indonesian fried rice with marinated beef tripe. The beef tripe was very tender and full of flavor while the spicy fried rice tasted a bit of sweet in a good way, typical Javanese cuisine.
Nasi Kuning Entjiem IDR 30k
Nasi Kuning is Indonesian aromatic tumeric rice cooked in coconut milk and usually served with various side dishes. AnakJajan got very excited when we saw their Nasi Kuning Entjiem here because the rice was overflow with side dishes such as egg, potato cake (perkedel), tempe (soycake) orek, fried noodle, acar kuning (tumeric pickle), sambal hati ampela (gizzard cooked in chili sauce), opor chicken (chicken cooked in coconut milk), sambal (chili sauce), kering kentang (caramelized potato chips and peanut). And the amazing thing is every single dish including the rice tasted amazing!
Fyi, Selera Meneer also accepts delivery order as they have huge army of delivery courier, you can order their regular menu or rice box for lunch/dinner or special menu for special occasion such as Nasi Tumpeng (cone-shaped rice).
Wedang Kacang Tanah IDR 10k
Wedang in Javanese means “beverages” and the typical wedang we usually find is ginger wedang. Here at Selera Meneer you can find unique Wedang Kacang made from peanut that have been slow cooked for 5 hours in order to get the rich nutty flavor.

Overall Selera Meneer is a place where you can be nostalgic and reminisce back in time through a special dish. AnakJajan enjoyed every single dish we had at Selera Meneer, there was no any dish that we dislike. The owner’s passion and love for food definitely reflected on the menu at Selera Meneer, the food were honestly pleasant, comfortable and very affordable we don’t mind having it everyday.
