AnakJajan with #JKTfoodies friends have visited Medan city for culinary trip recently, most of you that followed our instagram @anakjajan might already know about it.
It is no longer secret that Medan is very popular with its exceptional cuisine that’s why we decided to spend our weekend at Medan with one and only mission, that is to EAT EAT AND EAT!! :) Here’s video footage of our #AnakJajanMEDAN trip.
AnakJajan arrived at Kuala Namu Medan airport, the new airport at Medan that has been operated since 25th July 2013. Kuala Namu Medan airport is located quite far from Medan city around 39 km. Basically there are three options of transportation from airport to the city, car, bus and train. Train will cost you around IDR 100k per person for 40 minutes of ride, while the bus definitely is the cheapest option that will cost you around IDR 15k per person for 45 minutes to 1 hour of ride and the last option by car usually took around 45 minutes to 1 hour of ride, there are many drivers that offer airport – city ride for IDR 150k per car in front of the arrival area.
We rented a car without driver for three days (IDR 250k per day) and we chose this option because it will be more convenient for us to drive around the city doing restaurant hopping by ourselves.
Talking about the food, we had a very long long long list because all of us got sooo many recommendations and suggestions on where and what to eat at Medan, now it is my turn to share with you our culinary experience at Medan hopefully it can help or inspire you :) Here’s the list:
