Hello!! AnakJajan have an exciting news for you!! The famous dimsum restaurant Tim Ho Wan aka the cheapest Michelin star restaurant from HongKong is finally going to open its first outlet in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Jakarta Indonesia.
Tim Ho Wan is a very very very famous dimsum restaurant from HongKong. It has been a while since I visited their outlet at HongKong and I’ve been super craving for their dimsum especially the signature BBQ Baked Bun that’s why I’m trilled with the news.
Tim Ho Wan will be officially opened for public this Saturday 28th March 2015 and their 1st outlet is located at PIK area in the same row with Sumoboo.
The dimsum at Tim Ho Wan PIK contain pork which excites me because I finally can satisfy my craving for Pork BBQ Baked Bun. If you don’t eat pork and PIK area is way to far from your house, you don’t need to be sad because by the end of 2015 they will be opening another outlet at Grand Indonesia and all of the menu at Tim Ho Wan Grand Indonesia contain no pork no lard.
Earlier this week, AnakJajan got a special privilege to be the first to try it before it opens and share with you all. Let’s see what they have.
Baked Bun with BBQ Pork IDR 38.8k
This menu signature menu of Tim Ho Wan is MANDATORY!! Must Must have! Once you try it you will never see BBQ Baked Bun the same anymore because Baked Bun at Tim Ho Wan is just too amazing. Taste just as good as the one we had in HongKong, soft fluffy bun with light crunchy exterior and rich pork bbq filling, AnakJajan never had any BBQ Baked Bun as good as Tim Ho Wan’s.
Steamed Egg Cake IDR 28.8k
I heard that the Steamed Egg Cake also one of Tim Ho Wan’s signature but I never had one and I regret not having it back then. It may look so simple but surprisingly tasted so delicious. Soft fluffy pillowy steamed cake with this unique aroma that kinda hard to describe, you just have to try it urself. Recommended!
There are 4 types of Cheong Fan or Vermicelli roll with 3 different filling and 1 different sauce. My personal favorite would be the Prawn Cheong Fun, thin elastic vermicelly roll filled with juicy crunchy prawn and served with savory sauce.

Cheong Fun or Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork IDR 36.8k

Cheong Fun or Vermicelli Roll with Sweet Sesame Sauce IDR 28.8k
Hakau or Prawn Dumpling IDR 38.8k
Thin transparent dumpling filled with generous juicy prawn.
Steamed Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp IDR 26.8k
Fyi, Tim Ho Wan’s dimsum are freshly made and not frozen that’s why the dumpling skin has this nice elastic texture.
Pork Siumai with Shrimp IDR 36.8k
Siumai also good, very juicy and flavorful.
Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce IDR 29.8k
Tender and juicy steamed pork ribs. I love how the black bean sauce perfectly absorbed into the meat.
Steam Fish Maw with Prawn Paste IDR 36.8k
Steamed fish maw topped with minced prawn, it has a very tender texture.
Lo Mai Kai or Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf IDR 48.8k
Huge portion of steamed glutinous rice with generous rich well seasoned filling.
Beancurd Skin Roll with Pork & Shrimp IDR 33.8k
Tender Beancurd Skin Roll steamed with savory sauce and filled with pork and shrimp mixture.
Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp IDR 38.8k
Crunchy version of beancurd skin roll with juicy and crunchy prawn filling.
Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake IDR 28.8k
This has been my all time favorite menu to end my dimsum feast at Tim Ho Wan. I enjoyed the cooling effect and flowery tea aroma, it is more like a pudding with jiggling texture.
Overall craving was satisfied, Tim Ho Wan has officially become my favorite restaurant at PIK area. Will be back for more very very soon for sure!! Let’s Jajan!!
