Where do you usually spend your afternoon during weekend? AnakJajan used to be a couch potato, we love to snuggle and lazing in our house, but recently having a free time to do that is like a privilege for us due to our hectic schedule. Honestly me and Mr. Jajan kinda miss this ‘relax & nothing to do’ time but over the time we are kinda used to this kind of busy life. In fact sometimes when we are free and don’t have anything to do on weekend, shortly afterwards we will feel itchy and have to do something or go somewhere.
Around two weeks ago after meeting some friends, AnakJajan had some free time before our dinner appointment with some foodie friends we decided to have afternoon tea at Courtyard Cafe – The Hermitage Hotel.
The Hermitage is a newly opened luxury boutique hotel at Menteng area. The building and interior are just lovely with 1920’s Art Deco style decoration. In the middle of the hotel on the ground level, there is this nice outdoor cafe Courtyard full with natural light, rattan chair and table surrounded with plants.
Afternoon Tea is available everyday between 15.00-17.30 for IDR 138k++. TWG Ritual Tea/ Illy Coffee is included in the Afternoon Tea package with two selection: Hermitage with western snacks and Nusantara with Indonesian snacks.
The perks of having my own online shop @BibibelleStuff is I can import any accessories just for myself for guilty pleasure. That day I wore new golden sandals, necklace and watch :) Happy!
AnakJajan chose Hermitage Afternoon Tea package consist of finger sandwiches, cheese aranchini, quice Lorraine, macaron, chocolate truffle, opera cake and TWG Ritual Tea/ Illy Coffee. Opera cake and chocolate truffle were pretty decent while the rest are less palatable and dissapointing though.
What is the meaning of high tea for you? For us high tea is not just about having cups of tea with some cakes or snacks, it’s more like a lifestyle. Having cups of tea with tasty snacks/cakes at a nice lovely place with a great music & ambiance and of course a great conversation is the real tigh tea for us. So far our favorite spot to have high tea still is Shangri-La Hotel. Do you have recommendation for any nice afternoon tea place? Please let us know :)
Overall although the high tea was not impressing, AnakJajan must say Courtyard Cafe feels like an oasis with its nice ambiance. Let’s Jajan!!
