GOOD NEWS!!! Finally Sukiya the famous gyudon restaurant from Japan is open in Baywalk Mall North Jakarta.
Sukiya is one of the most famous Japanese chain restaurant serving beef bowl or gyudon in Japan. Having more than 2.000 restaurant outlets, you can easily find their branch almost everywhere in Japan.
During our time in Japan, AnakJajan also visited this brand and tried their food. Sukiya has more variety compare to Yoshinoya, the beefbowl or gyudon itself has several topping options.
AnakJajan got super excited knowing that it’s opening finally in Jakarta, their first branch opened literally around 5 days ago luckily is near our house so AnakJajan are able to try it as soon as they opened. Menu selection are not as much as Sukiya in Japan, but the popular ones are definitely available here.
Gyudon or beefbowl cost IDR 26.3k for Regular Size or IDR 32.7k for Large portion or IDR 36.3k for Regular Beef + Croquette set that comes with 2 pieces of Beef Croquette, Miso Soup and Drink.
Besides the original gyudon, Sukiya also serve beefbowl with various toppings such as Triple Cheese, Spring Onion and Egg, Half Boiled Egg and Veggies. Japanese Chicken Curry, Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and Kids meal also available here.
By adding IDR 10k for any a la carte meal you order, you will get 2 pieces Beef Croquette, Miso Soup and Drink or IDR 16.3k for Chicken Karaage, Miso Soup and Drink.
AnakJajan ordered (Regular) Spring Onion and Egg Beef Bowl IDR 34.5k + IDR 10k for Beef Croquette set consist of 2 pcs Beef Croquette, Miso Soup and Drink (Japanese GreenTea/ Pepsi/ Mirinda Strawberry/ 7up/ Mineral Water).
Beef Croquette was good, crunchy outside and soft tender inside but of course the hero would be this SUPERB Gyudon or Beefbowl!! So so gewwwddd!! The thinly sliced beef was really tender and well seasoned, taste even better and creamier when AnakJajan mix the Japanese rice and beef with the melting half boiled egg all together. My oh my, I’m drooling while writing this post!

Teriyaki Chicken Mayo Bowl with Mayonnaise and Egg IDR 27.2k (Regular)
This one also great, the teriyaki chicken was soft tender and well seasoned. This chicken bowl’s overall taste was creamier than gyudon due to the use of mayonnaise.
Half Boiled Egg Beef Bowl IDR 30.9k (Regular) + IDR 16.3k Chicken Karaage, Miso Soup, Drink
Chicken Karaage was good and well seasoned but I like the one from Y*sh*n*ya though.
Beef bowl taste just the same and as good as the spring onion beef bowl AnakJajan had before, the only difference is this one without spring onion. This one taste more comfortable without the smell of spring onion and I personally like it better. Btw if you don’t like egg you can order the beefbowl only, but who doesn’t love this kind of glorious melting golden egg yolk?? Making the gyudon taste even better when you mixed the egg with rice.
AnakJajan manage to had beef bowl from Y*sh*n*ya the day after trying Sukiya’s. It’s about the seasoning, Sukiya’s Gyudon definitely taste much much more delicious than Indonesia’s Y*sh*n*ya original beefbowl, no joke!! So give it a try, I’m sure u’ll love it as much as we do. Let’s Jajan!!
